Soccer: Roche keeps Medway boys perfect

Max Roche scored an unassisted goal in the 37th minute as visiting Medway edged Tri-Valley League rival Hopkinton, 1-0, yesterday.

Spenser Hachey and Malcolm Cheney combined for 12 saves in the net for the Hillers (1-1 TVL) while Tyler Pearl and Nolan Lynch combined for the shutout in net for the Mustangs (3-0 TVL).

MEDWAY 3, MILLIS 0: Tom O'Neil, Bill Albertelli and Max Roche each scored a goal as visiting Medway blanked Millis in a Tri-Valley League match.

Nolan Lynch made three saves in net for the shutout for Medway (6-2), which led 2-0 at the half. Keeper Robbie Albrect was a standout for Millis (1-8) with a 14-save effort.

Boys Soccer: Holliston rolls on past Medway

Will Nesbitt started off the first half scoring run for Holliston en route to a 3-0 shutout of Tri-Valley League foe Medway. Matt Donovan and Luke Spina tallied the other goals while Chris Johnston recorded three saves for the Panthers (9-1-3).

Nolan Lynch recorded eight saves for the Mustangs (7-3-3), while Max Roche had some good looks on the offensive end.

Boys Basketball: Pembroke over Medway

PEMBROKE 67, MEDWAY 60: No. 11 Medway cut a 20-point deficit down to two, largely in part to junior Max Roche's 18 points and 6-for-8 from 3-point land, but it was not enough to defeat No. 6 Pembroke in the Division 3 South first round.

Junior John Giacobbe scored 15 points, while classmate Derek Phillips chipped in with 13 points. The Mustangs finish the season 12-9.

2009 State Cup - Round Robin! May 30, 31, 2009!

U17 Blazers sweep 3 top seeded teams!!!

The FC Blazer team is currently playing in the Division 1 State Cup Tournament. The first weekend of competition saw the ninth seeded Blazers beat the number one seed New England Eagles 3-2 followed by victories over 3rd ranked Inter (2-1) and sixth ranked Western (4-0). The team goes into the State Cup Semi-final in two weeks at the Citizen's Bank fields in Lancaster.

U17 Blazers lose in shoot-out against U19's in Needham

The FC Blazer team lost in PK's playing up to U19's at the prestigious Needham Tournament. After moving easily through the early matches, the Blazer's wound up in a 1-1 tie with FC Explosion U19's. After 2 overtimes, the team lost to an outstanding goalie performance.

FC Blazers U17 - State Cup Champs!!!!!

The U17 Blazers defeated the previously unbeaten Crusaders 1-0 in the Semi-Final and then beat Western 2-0 in the State Cup Finals on June 13th and 14th at the Citizen's Bank Fields in Lancaster, MA. Between the Round Robin and the Finals, the Blazers defeated the top 5 teams in Massachusetts.

The Blazers move on to Marshall University in West Virginia and the Regional Championships from July 2nd to July 7th.
